Project Focus: Rochester, Minnesota – Temporary Pole Removal
Spring cleaning. It means different things to different people. To city municipalities it can mean the time to clean up their various city structures, including their water tanks. What does this have to do with the cellular industry and in particular, One Way Wireless Construction (One Way)? Well, this is where water and the cellular utilities meet. This tower story began in the Fall of 2017. One Way was called to install a temporary site in order to relocate the antenna system from the tank and onto the new pole while painting was completed on the tank. One Way’s crew installed the 84’ temp pole in three sections – a 44’ section, followed by a 42’ section and finally the antenna cluster that was now on its temporary site until the work was done on the tank. With the painting done and the City of Rochester proud owners of a new, refreshed water tank, One Way went to work dismantling and removing the temporary pole and installing the antenna cluster to its original home all with careful attention and dedication to not disrupting cellular service for the many residents in the area.
